A feed that only allows animals
One rule, enforced properly, does more for a community than a long list of guidelines nobody reads.
Project Ark has a community feed with a single hard rule: if there is no animal in the photo, it does not belong there.
It sounds restrictive. In practice a narrow rule is what keeps a feed worth opening. Once a space accepts anything, it drifts towards whatever gets the most attention, and the people who came for one thing quietly leave.
The rule also has to be enforced consistently or it means nothing. That is the part we are working on: making the check reliable enough that people trust it, without turning moderation into a full-time job.
Everything else about the app follows from the same instinct. Health records, vaccination dates, a lost-animal alert — narrow, useful, and not trying to be a general-purpose social network.
